Ransomware WannaCry last weekend 99 countries in the world, including Indonesia made panic. In just two days, this ransomware infects various lines of business in these countries.
In response to the global cyberattack, APJII (Association of Internet Service Providers Indonesia) delivered some tips and tricks that can be used to minimize the number of computers potentially infected with WansCry ransomware this.
In an official statement received by Tekno Liputan6.com, Monday (15/05/2017), tips from APJII is not much different from the tips that Kemkoninfo and some experts give before.
For computer users who are not sure whether to do Security Update Patch MS-17-010, can do the following steps:
1. Before turning on the computer:
A. Unplug the connected data cable (LAN)
B. Turns off WiFi that automatically connects to a computer.
2. After the computer is assured safe and not connected to the Internet, the computer can be switched on and backup all data to external HDD or USB flash drive.
3. Download the security patch from a different computer that is not very critical of its function or via a non-Microsoft based computer here and read the fuller way here.
4. After you safely backup your data to a flash drive or external HDD, you can directly update via the downloaded file in the previous step.
5. Please perform activities as usual after successfully perform the necessary security updates.

He adds, "While it may seem tedious, this kind of update can save us from cyber attacks and should also be careful clicking on links on the internet, email or social media unfamiliar."
